Tuna Charters

Tuna fishing is addicting. Plain and simple.

If you’ve never experienced albacore tuna fishing for yourself be prepared for an experience of a lifetime. Known as 'The Dark Side', the sizzle of the reel, and adrenaline of knowing the fish is on, catches you! Once we get out to the right waters we'll deploy troll gear and get on the hunt to find the fish. Tuna generally move in large schools, so we may be into multiple fights, or we may land just one. Spending time in those waters is always a great day full of ocean life including porpoises, sharks, occasional whale breechings, and more.

Pricing: boat cost of $2500 for up to 6 people

Trip Length: Up to 12-hours

Limit: 25 tuna per person, per day

When We Go:

Albacore tuna season generally begins in July and ends in October.

What I Supply:

  • All tackle including rods and reels.
  • Ice to keep the tuna cold while we’re fishing and returning to port.
  • Bait/chum

What To Bring With You:

  • Fishing license
  • Rain gear
  • Bibs to keep your clothes clean.
  • Wear clothes you wouldn’t mind throwing away. Once you get tuna blood on clothes, it never, ever comes out.

  • Plenty of storage for taking your tunas back home with you. (coolers, storage bags, fillet knives)
  • Optional: Bring your favorite music on a Bluetooth accessible device to play on my Bluetooth stereo system.

What To Expect:

  • A long day full of adventure in the blue Pacific Coastal waters.
  • Up to 12-hours of sea time.
  • If we get into fish, be prepared for fast action, bloody decks, and hot and heavy fishing.
  • Prepare to meet at Garibaldi Marina CH dock, slip #11 for an early morning start, depending on bar conditions.

How To Prepare:

Getting your license:

Be sure to get your one-day fishing license at least one day before meeting at Garibaldi Marina for your charter trip as we often leave earlier than any licensing dealer is open for business. You can get a license on the ODFW mobile app, or at an authorized dealer like most sporting goods stores.

If you are prone to sea-sickness:

  • Be sure to start taking anti-nausea medication at least two days before the trip to prepare your body for being on the ocean.
  • It is highly recommended that you do not drink alcohol the night before an ocean fishing trip.
  • It is also highly recommended that you do not eat greasy foods or dairy products the day of or night before your charter trip.
  • Please note: returning to port for sea-sickness is only done if the case is severe enough to require doing so.

BOOKING A TRIP:

  • A $99 deposit (payable check, Venmo, Paypal, or invoice) is required for all bookings, reserves your date, and will be credited toward a fulfilled trip.
  • If you cancel your trip within 7 days of your booking, your deposit is forfeited.
  • If the captain needs to cancel your trip due to weather, you will receive a full refund of your deposit and any monies received right away, unless your trip can be rebooked.
  • Want to stay in Garibaldi before or after your trip?  One good option near the marina is camping at The Old Mill which has tent sites and full RV hook-up site options available. Find out more about their rates and accommodations here.
  • Need or want your fish processed after your trip? Captain's Corner is your place! Tell us ahead if time and we'll book your cleaning for you. CC charges $10 per fish for same day cleaning; $8 per fish for next day

Tuna Fishing Charter Reviews

"I had the pleasure of fishing for Tuna with Kevin on a 2019 charter with a couple friends and family. That was a blast! He runs a tight, fun ship and sure knows how to find the fish. A first rate experience!"

Learn About Our Charter Trips

Then God said, "Let the waters swarm with fish & other life. Let the skies be filled with birds of every kind." So God created great sea creatures & every living thing that scurries & swarms in the water, & every sort of bird - each producing offspring of the same kind. And God saw that it was good. Then God blessed them, saying, "Be fruitful & multiply. Let the fish fill the seas, & let the birds multiply on the earth." Genesis 1:20-22
